DO YOU HAVE A DEGREE IN WRITING? 

Nope! I have a BFA in Studio Art with an emphasis in photography. While my degree doesn't have anything to do with writing, I have found that the creative and critiquing processes I practiced in school have definitely carried over and have been a big help in my writing.

  WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU WANTED TO BE AN AUTHOR? 

I think I always knew in the back of my mind I wanted to write, but I didn't actively pursue writing until my mid-twenties.

  WHAT MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO WHEN YOU WRITE? 

I actually get extremely distracted if I listen to music when I write, but music plays a huge role when I'm plotting/brainstorming. I'm a big fan of the "epic music" genre for this and I listen to it a lot when I'm driving or running, which is when most of my big ideas come to me. Right now I'm listening to a lot of music by Two Steps from Hell, Audiomachine, Thomas Bergersen, Hans Zimmer (of course), and Future World Music.
